Animals in the Sahara
- Horned Vipers- Just under 2 feet in length. Their bite can deliver serious consequences. It has more than 13 different toxins. This snake, like most snakes, is a meat eater. It is most active at night. It travels by "sidewinding",or sliding sideways. In some instances, the snakes bite can induces in it's victim a sensation that the heart is being squeezed by a human hand.
- Fennec Fox- The Fennec Fox weighs 2-3 pounds. The ears are as big as 6 inches. They're very social animals and are usually found in packs. They are nocturnal but do like to lay out in the sun. They have a scent gland at the top of their tail that can give off a foul odor when the animal is frightened. If they are well cared for, they live up to 14 years in captivity.
- Nubian Bustards- They are a near threatened species. They mainly feed on insects but, seed, and fruit may be apart of their diet.
